Colorado State enters with a profile that was uneven on both sides of the ball in 2025. The Rams averaged 18.5 points per game and 324.2 yards per game, but they also gave up 30.8 points and 426.0 yards per game. Wyoming was more limited offensively, posting 16.0 points and 314.7 yards per game, while allowing 20.5 points and 344.3 yards per game. In a game with these numbers, the deciding factor is often whether one side can create a handful of efficient drives rather than build sustained scoring. The key offensive indicator is yards per play, where Colorado State sat at 5.1 and Wyoming at 4.9. Neither team showed the kind of efficiency that usually forces a total into the upper 40s. Colorado State’s passing game averaged 215.9 yards per game, but Wyoming’s pass defense held opponents to 175.5 passing yards per game, which adds another layer of resistance for a CSU offense that was not explosive overall. Wyoming’s own offense was more run-based at 131.7 rushing yards per game, yet Colorado State’s run defense allowed 204.9 rushing yards per game, so Wyoming has a path to score. Even so, that same matchup can also shorten the game if it produces a steady clock-driven pace.
Colorado State should have the better chance to win at home, but the stronger betting edge is on the under. The Rams’ offense was only average-to-below-average by most efficiency measures, Wyoming’s attack was even weaker, and both teams have recent scoring profiles that fit a game in the low 40s rather than the upper 40s. A projected 24-20 Colorado State win keeps the Rams slightly ahead on the scoreboard while landing the total at 44, which supports Under 46.5 as the best value play.
