Our Verdict
BetRivers is a strong choice for players focused on welcome-bonus value. Its Second Chance Bet returns the stake from a losing first wager as a Bonus Bet, up to the applicable state limit. The maximum can reach $500, although some states cap the offer at $250 or $100.
If you’ve spent any time comparing U.S. sportsbooks lately, BetRivers probably keeps popping up and for good reason. Launched by Rush Street Interactive, BetRivers has quietly built a reputation for clean design, competitive odds, and player-friendly features that don’t feel overly complicated. Still, a polished app and flashy promotions don’t always tell the full story. Some bettors praise its second-chance bonus and smooth payouts, while others wonder how it really stacks up against bigger household names. In this review, I’ll walk through how BetRivers actually performs in day-to-day use, from bonuses and betting markets to usability and overall trust, so you can decide whether it’s a smart place to put your money or just another app worth skipping.

The first thing I look at when reviewing sportsbooks is the welcome offer. And with BetRivers, they’ve got a pretty solid sign-up bonus for all new customers. When you join using our BetRivers Sportsbook promo code "BONUSPLAY," you’ll unlock their “Second Chance Bet” promotion.

Here’s how it works:

Overall, it’s a pretty straightforward intro offer and a nice safety net in case your first pick doesn’t go your way. If you’re brand new to BetRivers, this is definitely the promotion you’ll want to start with.
In case you’re wondering, BetRivers bonus bets work pretty much the same way as bonus money at all the other top online sportsbooks.
You can’t withdraw them directly, but you can use them to bet on any sporting event just like you would with real money. After that, you can withdraw winnings from them right away (if you want) because there's just a 1x wagering requirement on all BetRivers Sportsbook promos.
The only other thing to remember is that the bonus bet stake is not included in any winnings. For example, if you win a $50 bonus bet at +100 odds, the total payout would be $50. Not $100.
In addition to their welcome bonus, BetRivers Sportsbook does a solid job of providing value to its existing users. Here are some of the ongoing promos you’ll get to take advantage of:

BetRivers Sportsbook also has a loyalty program called iRush Rewards. And honestly, it’s one of the better ones out there.
Any time you place a real-money bet, you get three types of points. There are Loyalty Level Points (Levels 1–9), Tier Points (used to reach Gold, Platinum, or Black), and Bonus Store Points, which you can redeem directly for rewards like bonus bets and odds boosts.

It’s all pretty straightforward. But if you want the full breakdown of how it all works, check out our complete guide to the BetRivers iRush Rewards program.
BetRivers Sportsbook does a great job when it comes to banking options too. They accept all of the most popular and convenient payment methods for both deposits and withdrawals (see the full lists below).
BetRivers promotes RushPay as an option that can instantly approve many withdrawals, but approval and delivery times vary by payment method, state, and verification status.
The “BetRivers: Casino & Sportsbook” app is available for free download in the iOS App Store for iPhone and iPad devices. It's also available for free in the Google Play Store for Android phones and tablets. I’ve been using it for some time now, and I really don’t have anything to complain about.

The BetRivers app is pretty well organized, and it’s easy to find anything you need.
There are five main tabs at the bottom of the screen:
For deposits and withdrawals, you just go to your Wallet, which is located at the top of the screen next to your account balance. Overall, everything is pretty simple.
Then, in terms of performance, I'd say the BetRivers sports betting app has worked great for me. I haven’t had any major issues with the app lagging, crashing, or glitching on me.
My only minor complaint is the pop-up ads I get for their ongoing promotions every time I log in. But honestly, I can see the value in promoting them to users, so it’s hard to complain too much about that.
The bet slip on the BetRivers app is pretty easy to work with. There are three tabs at the top: Singles, Parlay, and Round Robin.
Once your picks are added, you just switch to the tab you want, type in the amount you want to wager, and hit “Place Bet.” It’s all really straightforward and doesn’t take more than a couple of seconds to get a bet in once you're ready.

Also, BetRivers offers live streaming for select sporting events on its app.
You can find everything that’s available to watch under the “Stream” section of the Sportsbook tab. It’s split into a few different sections, like “Stream Now” and “Stream Later” (which let you see what’s currently live and what’s coming up).

Most of the streaming options are from niche sports or international leagues, though. You’ll see a good amount of soccer, basketball (including leagues like the EuroLeague), tennis, table tennis, cricket, and hockey.
You won’t see too many major U.S. sporting events live streaming here, which is a bit of a letdown. Still, it’s a useful feature to have, and it’s great if you enjoy betting on those niche sports or international markets.
Source note: The comments below are pulled from publicly visible app-store reviews (Apple App Store / Google Play) and are shown as examples of common feedback. Review availability and recency can change, and individual experiences vary.
If you’re curious what other people think of the app, there’s an unofficial BetRivers Reddit community that’s worth checking out.
Folks there talk about promos, payout issues, random glitches, and whatever else comes up while using the sportsbook. It gives you a pretty honest look at what everyday users run into.
You can also read through some of the BetRivers app reviews on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. I included a few examples below so you can get a feel for the kinds of things real players are saying right now.
"This app is typically very easy to navigate and very user-friendly. If you have an issue with crashing, you may need to clear your cache or data in your Android's app settings. Support has been extremely helpful!"
- Rachel Simpson (5/5 Star Rating)
"When I first started using the app, I didn't like it much... I found the app layout and design annoying and cheap. BUT now that I've been using it a while, I've grown to love this app. They give me bonuses very often, the payouts are always instant for me, and it's easy to place a bet. I do wish they had better options for live betting, and that they'd fix some things, such as making your active bets easier to see."
- Amy Betts (4/5 Star Rating)
"UI is very clean. App runs super smooth even on the go. Very generous new player promo + daily promos and boosts."
- Damon Stapleton Jr. (5/5 Star Rating)
If you’re someone who likes betting on a laptop or computer, BetRivers has you covered. Their desktop website includes pretty much everything you’ll find in the BetRivers Sportsbook app: the same betting markets, the same promotions, and all the same features.

The only real difference is the layout. With some more screen space to work with, the desktop BetRivers site is a little easier to navigate and quickly search for sports, leagues, or teams using the search bar in the top-left corner.
You also get quicker access to live streaming, Prop Central, House Specials, and a few other important sections.
You might be wondering whether BetRivers is legit and if it’s a sportsbook you can trust with your personal information and your money. This section breaks all of that down and helps clear up any questions you might have about how safe and reliable the platform actually is.
Yes. BetRivers is a legal sportsbook, and it’s licensed in every state where it operates. When a state gives an operator a sports betting license, it means they’re required to follow a long list of rules and can’t just run things however they want.
A few things come with that.
So yes... BetRivers is legitimate. And it’s held to the same standards as all other licensed U.S. online sportsbooks.
Right now, there are 15 states where BetRivers is legal. Check out the table below to see if your home state is one of them.

BetRivers does a pretty good job with customer support. There are four main ways you can get in touch with their team:
Support Option 💬 | How to Contact 📌 |
|---|---|
Live Chat: | Available daily from 9:30 a.m. ET to 2:00 a.m. ET on the website or app |
Phone Support: | Varies by state (example: 1-800-610-1244 in New York) |
Email Support: | Varies by state (example: NYsupport@betrivers.com in New York) |
Twitter/X: | Send a DM to @BetRivers anytime |
As you can see, the NYsupport@betrivers.com number are different for each state. The email always follows the pattern (Two-letter state abbreviation) + support@betrivers.com. For example, it's NYsupport@betrivers.com in New York.
For phone numbers, I think the easiest thing to do is go to the BetRivers website, choose your state, and go to the Help Center. You'll see the number listed there.
The Help Center also has a lot of self-help articles on topics like account registration, deposits, withdrawals, geolocation, promotions, and loyalty rewards. If your question is pretty generic, you might find the answer there faster without actually needing to contact support.
But anyway, during my BetRivers app review, I tried out the live chat support option.
You’re connected with a chatbot first, which can answer some basic questions and provide general info about the platform. But if you have a more specific question/problem, you'll need to tap the “Transfer to Agent” option when you see it.
After I did that, I waited about 10–15 minutes before a real person joined the chat. The agent was friendly and helpful once they were there, so no complaints on that part.
The only downside is the short wait time, which I’d imagine gets even longer during peak betting hours (like the NFL Sunday afternoon window, for example).
BetRivers is owned by Rush Street Interactive (RSI), a Chicago-based gaming company with plenty of experience in the online sports betting industry. RSI also owns and operates the Rivers Casino properties in states like Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, and Virginia.
BetRivers usually lets you bet as little as $1. On the high end, limits can reach up to about $25,000, but it really depends on what you’re betting on. For example, you can usually wager a lot more on a primetime NFL spread than you can on a player prop in a weekday MACtion college football game.
Yes. BetRivers provides live support through the app. The live chat customer service BetRivers offers is available from 9:30 a.m. ET to 2:00 a.m. ET. When you start a chat, you’ll be placed in a queue behind other users waiting for help. Once a support agent is available, they’ll join the chat and help out with whatever you need.
Yes. In the states that allow online gambling, the BetRivers Sportsbook app also gives you access to BetRivers Casino, so you can play real-money slots and table games in the same place where you bet on sports.
