When is the 2026 FIFA World Cup?
The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026. It is the first 48-team edition, featuring 104 matches across 16 host cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The final takes place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Who are the favorites to win the 2026 World Cup?
Spain lead the market at +450 (BetMGM), followed by England at +550 and France at +650. Brazil and Argentina sit at +750 and +850 respectively. Portugal (+1100) and Germany (+1400) round out the top tier.
Where is the 2026 World Cup being played?
Matches are played across 16 host cities: 11 in the United States (including Los Angeles, New York/New Jersey, Dallas, Miami, and Seattle), 2 in Canada (Toronto and Vancouver), and 2 in Mexico (Mexico City and Guadalajara). Altitude is a genuine betting factor: Mexico City sits at 2,240 metres above sea level.
What is the format of the 2026 World Cup?
The expanded 48-team field is divided into 12 groups of four. The top two teams from each group advance automatically to the Round of 32. The eight best third-placed teams also advance, making it possible to finish third in a group and still progress. From the Round of 32 it is a standard single-elimination knockout bracket through to the final.
How can I bet on the 2026 World Cup?
Legal sportsbooks in licensed US states offer full World Cup coverage including match lines (1X2), totals, both teams to score, first goalscorer, group winner markets, Golden Boot futures, and outright winner futures. Live in-play betting is available on all major platforms during matches.
Is it better to bet World Cup futures now or closer to the tournament?
Betting early locks in prices before public money shortens the favourites. Waiting until closer to the tournament lets you factor in squad injuries and form but at shorter prices. For group-winner markets, the best time is typically after the final qualifying spots are confirmed, when coach changes and injury news create short-term pricing inefficiencies.
How do the third-place wildcards work?
After the group stage, the eight best third-placed teams across all 12 groups advance to the Round of 32 alongside the 24 group winners and runners-up. Teams are ranked by points, then goal difference, then goals scored. This means a team can finish third in their group and still progress, making third-place qualification markets worth watching closely in groups where four teams are closely matched.
ATS.io covers every match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup from the Group A opener on June 11 to the final at MetLife Stadium on July 19. We publish daily picks, sharp money alerts, futures board updates, and in-depth betting angle articles and videos throughout all 39 days of the tournament.
Our group stage coverage includes complete betting guides for all 12 groups, with fixtures, predicted lineups, formation analysis, group winner odds, advance markets, and best bets for every match. Each guide is built around current squad data and verified odds rather than pre-draw projections.
For futures bettors, we track the outright winner board, Golden Boot odds, and top-four markets throughout the tournament, flagging significant line moves and the sharpest value plays as they emerge. For match bettors, every game from the group stage through the final gets a dedicated preview covering the 1X2 line, totals, both-teams-to-score, and key player props.
