The Big East season opens with an intriguing showdown as the Georgetown Hoyas travel to take on the Marquette Golden Eagles in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. Both teams enter this contest looking to prove itself after struggling against power conference teams in non-conference action. Here, I take a closer look at this big game in the Big East and make my Georgetown vs Marquette prediction in college hoops.

Both of these teams have struggled to get stops on the defensive end of the floor early in the year and they have struggled against the spread as a result. I expect that trend to continue on both sides, but someone has to cover the number here. I'll take the Golden Eagles to be that team, as they should hold serve at home to avoid a poor start to their season in Big East play.
