COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Charlotte has struggled on both sides of the ball, scoring 20.63 points per game while giving up 40.25, and its passing defense has been especially leaky at 278.75 yards allowed per game. UAB has been more balanced, averaging 21.63 points per game on offense and holding opponents to 25.25 points per game, with a passing defense allowing only 116.0 yards per game. Charlotte’s offense has shown enough passing volume to keep drives alive, but UAB’s defense gives it a much better chance to control possessions and limit explosive scoring. The contrast in defensive efficiency is the main reason the game projects below the market total.
UAB should have the cleaner path to a home win, but the better value is on the total staying below the market number. Charlotte’s defense has been too vulnerable to trust in a high-scoring script, yet UAB’s stronger defensive numbers and Charlotte’s inefficient offense point to a game that settles in the low 40s. My projection is UAB Blazers 26, Charlotte 49ers 17, with the under 47.5 as the best position.
